Terrigal
When former fashion retailer Valerie Hunter approached architect Jorge Hrdina to design her ocean-facing house at Terrigal on the New South Wales Central Coast, she wanted it to be modern, but with a soft edge in keeping with the natural, spectacular setting. And she wanted it to reflect her personality. “I like modern architecture and need it to be full of light, but I want to be able to go barefoot in winter and not feel cold”, she told the architect.
The architect’s award-winning Casey house at Killcare, also on the Central Coast, had greatly impressed Valerie. “He was familiar with this area and that gave him brownie point,” she says. “I was lucky to find Jorge.”
