It’s rare that an architect is given the opportunity to design more than one house at a time so when the commission to design three houses in a row, in the Sydney suburb of Bronte was offered to Walter Barda, principle of Walter Barda Design, he made the most of his passion for integrated landscaping and abstract forms. The Hilltown house is one of the three. Perched high on a hill facing the southeast, taking in the magnificent views of Bronte beach and the open sea, it has the strength of a fortress but remains soft and organic where it counts.
