French holiday factory A place where all their favorite things have come together: that’s what Bart and Marieke de Jonge call their 3000 m2 former textile factory in . They rent out five apartments, two guest rooms and one studio, all of which they have built by hand and decorated in vintage design, home-made furniture and jumble sale gems. Many people dream about it, but few dare to actually do it: leave everything behind and start up a guest house in a Mediterranean country. Bart and Marieke de Jong (both 43) dared to take the leap and started off with something big. In 2003 they purchased a former textile factory dating back to 1739 in the French, and set about converting it into five apartments, two guest rooms and a studio, which are rented to guests from May to October. Visitors can relax in vintage or design chairs; swim in the river behind the house and sleep in rooms with every comfort including wifi, all while enjoying the atmosphere of the eighteenth century factory.
