Table runner
What is needed:
-table runner or fabric 49x164cm
-fabric scraps rectangular, in different colors + sizes (here from 7x10cm- 18x25cm) -embroidery frame
-sewing machine
-embroidery needle
-embroidery thread different colors
-Vliesofix
-sewing machine
-iron
-sewing thread different colors
Stretch colored pieces of fabric in the embroidery hoop, embroider stripes in the running stitch with different colors of thread. Iron Vlisofix onto the backs, peel off backing and place on runner, iron in place.
If you like, leave the edges fringed, you can sew around the patch staggered several times for durability when sewing onto the runner. Additional hold then also gives "Fransenstopp" (eg from company Prym) the liquid is applied to the edges, this prevents further fraying.
Or you can miss the small pieces of fabric when appliquéing, for this fold the edges once 0.5cm, iron on Vliesofix and proceed as above.
Continue embroidering the pattern on the runner with embroidery thread.
Fold the table runner 2x 1cm all around, pin in place and hem, taking the appliqués along the edge.
